Here are a few strategies:

Continuing professional development programmes: to offer courses, workshops and certification programmes that enable employees to develop new skills and advance their careers. It is necessary to demonstrate through concrete actions that employees have opportunities for growth within the company.

Competitive remuneration and benefits: ensure that salaries are in line with market standards. In addition, offer attractive benefits such as health insurance, pension schemes, performance bonuses and other financial incentives.

Recognition and rewards: Implement systems to recognise and reward good performance, such as ‘Employee of the Month’ awards, bonuses for specific achievements, and public acknowledgements. This can be achieved through intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, recognition of performance, and good communication.

Course: refers to offering clear opportunities for professional development and progression within the company.

Culture: a positive and strong organisational culture that aligns the company’s values with those of its employees. The culture must be inclusive, respectful and foster a sense of belonging.

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs model adapted to the workplace

Physiological needs: a fair wage, safe working conditions.

Safety: job security, health and safety benefits.

Affiliation: good working relationships, teamwork.

Estimates: recognition, responsibilities commensurate with one’s skills.

Self-actualisation: opportunities for personal and professional development.

Kaye and Jordan-Evans retention model

On-call duty: to understand why employees choose to stay. Exit surveys and interviews can provide this information.

Acknowledgement: to value and recognise employees’ achievements and contributions.

Growth: to provide learning opportunities and professional development.

Meaningful work: to ensure that employees find meaning and purpose in their work.

Work-life balance: to help people strike a balance between their work and personal responsibilities.

Gallup’s Satisfaction and Engagement Model

Gallup developed a 12-question questionnaire (Q12) that measures the level of employee engagement. The questions cover topics such as clear expectations, availability of resources, opportunities to do one’s best every day, recognition, support from supervisors, valued opinions, the company’s mission, committed colleagues, professional development, and progress at work.

Herzberg’s two-factor theory model

Hygiene factors: salary, working conditions, company policies, interpersonal relationships. A lack of these factors can lead to dissatisfaction.

Motivational factors: recognition, achievements, responsibility, growth. The presence of these factors leads to greater satisfaction and motivation at work.

Adams’ equity model

Perception of fairness: Employees compare their efforts and rewards with those of their colleagues. If they perceive unfairness, they may feel demotivated and look for opportunities outside the company.

Distributive and procedural justice: Ensuring that rewards and treatment are fair and equitable can improve employee satisfaction and retention.

Talent Retention Plan

Finally, we’d like to share a talent retention scheme which you can adapt to suit your company’s needs.

Initial diagnosis: To begin with, it is important to assess staff turnover rates and the reasons for staff leaving. Carry out customer satisfaction surveys and commitment, as well as exit interviews. It also identifies which employees are critical to the company’s operations and success.

Setting objectives: set specific targets, such as reducing staff turnover by a certain percentage, increasing employee engagement or improving the results of satisfaction surveys. Don’t forget to set a timeframe for achieving these targets.

Strategy development: Use the initial assessment to identify your company’s weaknesses – in other words, the reasons why employees decide to leave. Based on this, choose the strategies you need to develop.

Implementation: Draw up a detailed plan with specific actions, designated responsible parties and deadlines. Remember to inform all staff about the new initiatives and how they will benefit from them.

Monitoring and evaluation: It establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of retention strategies. It carries out regular reviews to assess progress towards objectives and adjust strategies as necessary. Furthermore, it continuously collects and analyses employee feedback to identify areas for improvement and refine retention initiatives.

Ongoing adjustments and improvements: Based on the monitoring results and the feedback received, you can make adjustments to the retention plan if necessary.

We invite you to subscribe to Educa.Pro …and start enjoying a wide range of specialised training courses today, with absolutely no limits!

In a company, it is necessary to implement talent retention strategies to keep the best employees within the organisation.

[1

post-4236","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
