Digital Certificate application process

Getting your Digital Certificate is very simple; you just need to follow these steps:

  1. Pre-configuration: first, you must install on your computer the software indicated on the Electronic Headquarters of the Royal Mint and the Spanish Royal Mint (FNMT) website.
  2. Online certificate application: once you complete the application process, you will receive an email containing the application code, which must be presented at your Identity Accreditation Office.
  3. Visit an Identity Accreditation Office with the application code obtained in the previous step. You can find your nearest office using the online office locator. Important! Some offices require an appointment, so check beforehand to avoid unnecessary waiting.
  4. Download your user certificate: one hour after your identity has been verified at the office, using your application code, you can download and install your certificate from the Electronic Headquarters of the Royal Mint and National Mint and Stamp Factory. We recommend making a backup copy.

Certificates issued by the FNMT-RCM are unique to each person and cannot be transferred. Any action carried out using these certificates is the sole responsibility of the holder or signer. For this reason, the FNMT-RCM strongly recommends that the certificate not be shared with others. The holder—or, in the case of a representation certificate, the represented entity—is responsible for safeguarding it.

Furthermore, if you have other questions related to the proper use and security of the Digital Certificate, you can contact the user support service, available through the official website of the Royal Mint and National Mint and Stamp Factory.
