Introduction

This training Digital Literacy: Computing and the Internet aims to provide you with a solid foundation in computing and the Internet, regardless of your prior knowledge. It begins by introducing the basic physical and logical elements of a personal computer, as well as how the operating system and common peripherals work. You will learn how to working with files, including the organisation and storage unit management, covering key concepts such as the network operation, protocols, terminology and the domain name system. In addition, emphasis will be placed on the the importance of the internet in today’s society and in personal and professional development.

Objectives

  • Understand computer science concepts essential parts and components of a computer.

  • Mastering the file management, including copying, moving and deleting.

  • To familiarise yourself with office software basic and carry out routine tasks.

  • Browse the Internet, its protocols and essential services.
