Postural and Effort Ergonomics

Introduction

The ergonomics is a scientific discipline that deals with the interaction between humans and the elements of a production system (humans, machines and the environment); and the application of the scientific knowledge on man and the conception of the jobs with the aim of increasing the effectiveness and well-being for workers. Through this training initiative in Postural and Effort Ergonomics Students will be able to function effectively within the sector and analyse the risk factors to avoid back injuries, for the prevention of injuries musculoskeletal resulting from static postures and incorrect movements, repetitive movements or muscle strain.

Objectives

  • To analyse the risk factors to avoid back injuries, for the prevention of injuries musculoskeletal resulting from static postures and incorrect movements, etc.

  • To know the specific risks working with display screens.

  • To study the existing regulations with regard to workplace ergonomics and awkward postures

  • To analyse the physical and postural strain and to understand musculoskeletal disorders.
