What is NLP, or neuro-linguistic programming?

In recent years, we have seen a growing interest in personal development and mental health – two closely linked concepts – and to which the traditional social structure we have created has, until now, failed to attach sufficient importance, creating various obstacles to personal growth and even triggering mental health problems resulting from stress, a lack of understanding, the demands of the labour market and other factors that force us to neglect our life goals.

  1. Anchorage: this technique involves linking a stimulus (such as a gesture, a word or an image) to a specific emotional state. It is used to access and trigger a desired emotional state at any time.
  2. Calibration: involves observing and recognising a person’s non-verbal cues, such as facial expressions, tone of voice and body language, in order to gain insight into their inner states and emotions.
  3. Reframing: It is a technique that involves changing the interpretation or meaning of an experience, situation or belief. The aim is to find a new perspective that leads to more positive and constructive outcomes.
  4. Milton Model: is based on the hypnotic language of the therapist Milton Erickson. It involves using vague and ambiguous linguistic patterns to facilitate effective communication and stimulate the recipient’s imagination and creativity.
  5. Language metamodel: The language metamodel is a technique involving specific questions designed to identify and challenge limiting assumptions and generalisations in a person’s language. It helps to clarify and broaden one’s understanding of a person’s experience and thinking.
  6. Creative visualisation: it is used to create clear and vivid mental images of the desired goals. It helps to programme the subconscious mind to achieve the desired results.
  7. Resource anchoring technique: this involves associating a stimulus with a state of positive resources, such as confidence or calm. It is then used to access that state when needed.
  8. Report: it is a technique that establishes a harmonious and trusting connection with another person. It involves adapting one’s language, tone of voice, posture and breathing pattern to establish rapport and facilitate effective communication.
  9. Bridge to the Future Technique: it is used to visualise and plan future goals and objectives in a clear and motivating way. It helps to set out a path towards achieving the desired results.
  10. Temporal reframing technique: this technique is used to change the temporal perspective of an event or experience. It may involve reviewing a past experience from the present-day perspective or visualising a successful future in order to generate motivation and overcome obstacles.
