Introduction

Our training programme Business French is designed for professionals seeking to acquire skills linguistic specific to the environment corporate French-speaking. On this course, participants will learn to to communicate effectively in business situations, from meetings y presentations including emails and phone calls. It will focus on the development of vocabulary y structures grammatical related to the business and in understanding Francophone business culture. This course provides comprehensive preparation for to have success in the world of business in French-speaking contexts.

TEACHING UNIT 1. COMPANY OVERVIEW

  1. Give an oral presentation outlining the company’s profile (activities, location, size, markets, history, etc.), as well as the tasks and responsibilities carried out by the student within the company.

TEACHING UNIT 2. VISITS TO/FROM CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS

  1. To welcome and/or introduce visitors, using the appropriate structures, phrases and courtesies.
  2. To offer hospitality and assistance during the visit
  3. Converse naturally, responding spontaneously to questions about the company, its internal organisation, products, etc.
  4. Hosting large groups at the company.
  5. A tour of the facilities and an explanation of the manufacturing processes.

TEACHING UNIT 3. TELEPHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE

  1. Appropriate use of telephone courtesies. Formal and informal registers.
  2. Receiving and leaving messages.
  3. Arrange appointments.
  4. Managing the details of a business trip (flights, hotels, etc.)
  5. Enquiries and orders (prices, discounts, delivery details, etc.)
  6. Claims handling (delays, damage to goods, order mix-ups, etc.).

TEACHING UNIT 4. MEETINGS

  1. Taking part in meetings and making decisions (asking for and giving opinions, checking information and clarifying certain points, expressing agreement or disagreement…)
  2. To report on the progress of projects and provide updates on details.
  3. Negotiation: positions, questions, alternatives, accepting and rejecting offers…)

TEACHING UNIT 5. ORAL PRESENTATIONS

  1. Use of appropriate phrasing throughout the presentation in its various sections (introduction, linking ideas, transitional language between sections, conclusion, etc.)
  2. Talking about trends using the right language.
