Introduction

Within the field of arts and crafts, traditional blacksmithing represents a a unique and traditional disciplinewhat is involved in creating works handcrafted metal items. To practise this art form effectively, it is essential to understand the various fields and techniques that it encompasses the production of handcrafted wrought-iron pieces.

Artisanal blacksmithing encompasses a wide range of skills, from the selection of metallic materials to the design and part modelling, including the forging process itself, which involves processes such as the tempering and welding. Each of these stages requires a thorough knowledge and skill to achieve exceptional results.The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge they need to organise one’s professional life from a workshop hand-forged.

Objectives

To plan a craft workshop, taking into account its market viability plan.
Plan the layout of the craft workshop, including tools, machinery and workstations, whilst taking into account the regulations governing the employment and health and safety at work.
Define and draw up a plan for tax obligations and grant applications taking into account the labour and tax regulations in force at the place where the craft workshop is established.
Draw up a budget for a single item or a series to be produced in order to decide on the economic viability taking into account all production costs.
Determine the procurement of supplies for meet projected production targets taking into account requirements and stock levels.
Draw up a sales plan for the handcrafted products, taking into account includes distribution and marketing channels.
To analyse the measures for prevention and safety with regard to the procedures for handling the facilities and equipment, as set out in the safety plans of the companies in the sector.
