Introduction

Within the vast field of arts and crafts, the reproduction of moulds and handcrafted ceramic pieces is a field of great importance in the professional sphere handcrafted glass and ceramics. This course focuses on providing the participants the essential knowledge required to produce moulds for the purpose of replicating ceramic pieces in a handcrafted and authentic.

Mould reproduction is a technique a crucial technique that enables craftspeople to create faithful replicas of original parts, which is valuable both from a with a view to preserving traditional craftsmanship in order to meet the demand in the market for unique ceramic products.

Objectives

  • Apply conditioning procedures for moulds for the reproduction of plaster casts as set out in the operating procedures, whilst complying with the health and safety and environmental standards.

  • Apply procedures for preparing plaster slurry for the reproduction of moulds, in accordance with the operating procedures, whilst complying with the safety and environmental protection standards.

  • Implement procedures for reproduction of plaster moulds, depending on the moulding process (slip or plastic clay) used for handmade ceramic pieces.

  • Apply drying procedures for plaster moulds in the production of handcrafted ceramic pieces in accordance with established operating procedures, whilst complying with health and safety and environmental regulations.

  • Apply die conditioning processes for the reproduction of resin moulds in accordance with the provisions set out in operational methods.

  • Apply procedures for the reproduction of resin moulds for the manufacture of components handcrafted ceramics produced in accordance with established operating procedures, whilst complying with health and safety and environmental protection regulations.
